Committees for Health Care Industry Professionals
Medical Advisory Board - The Board recently voted on establishing a Medical Advisory Committee. The committee is to be comprised of health industry professionals that will recommend and approves patient and physician education materials for web content and printed publications.
We would like each member to contribute (annually) a minimum of one brief, article, letter, press release, or other communication about diabetes care and in support of why our work is so important to patients with diabetes.
Pharmacy Advisory Board - iPump is in process of appointing members to a pharmacy advisory board. Members will provide input and advice on pharmacy laws at federal and state level to ensure that iPump's practices and policies operate within the law.
Members must be pharmacists or other legal or health professionals with an intimate working knowledge of the laws that regulate the distribution of prescription medications, prescription supplies, and medical devices including insulin pumps and their associated supplies.
Currently,iPump abides by federal and state laws and wishes to remain in compliance with pharmacy laws at all times. We believe the best way to stop on top of any changes in laws, or create more efficient and safe patient protocol regarding prescription items, is to rely on the support and advice of a pharmacy advisory board.
General Committees
Community Awareness Committee - Members keep iPump informed about the interests, trends, and needs of the general diabetes community and makes recommendations based on their research about development of new web content, features, service program, and publications.
Community Liaison Committee - Members reads public diabetes-related forums and points persons in need (i.e., looking for diabetes support, information, scholarships, health insurance information, legal support, etc.) to iPump as is appropriate.
Executive Committee - Carries out specific tasks as directed by iPump's Board of Directors.
Fund Raising Committee - This committee assists in locating and recommending funding resources for iPump to pursue, and develops fundraising strategies and plans to present to the Board.
This committee largely serves as an information gathering and reporting committee. Members are not required to actually fundraise on behalf of iPump unless they wish to do so.
Nominations Committee - Members interview and recommend potential candidates to fill vacancies on the Board as needed. At present, our Board of Directors is fully seated.
