  • In 2005 and 2008 Mr. Ehrlich was honored as Appellate Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.

  • Editor-in-chief of the Southern California Trial Lawyer's Association Advocate magazine.

  • Published author in the Advocate, the Consumer Attorneys of California’s Forum, and the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

  • Mr. Ehrlich founded the Ehrlich Law Firm in 2006, and still works closely with Shernoff Bidart Darras & Echeverria, LLP on many matters, providing appellate and litigation expertise.

  • Mr. Ehrlich is a cum laude graduate of the Harvard Law School, with over 20 years of civil litigation experience.

  • Mr. Ehrlich is certified as an appellate specialist by the California Board of Legal Specialization.

Background and Professional Experience

For the last decade the focus of his practice has been insurance-related litigation on behalf of insurance policyholders.  In 1999 he joined Shernoff Bidart & Darras, LLP, heading the firm’s appellate practice group. In 2000, he was made partner in the firm.

Mr. Ehrlich has briefed or supervised the briefing in more than 175 appeals, and has argued more than 75 appeals in the state and federal courts throughout the United States. Mr. Ehrlich has argued in the United States Supreme Court, before seven of the 13 federal circuit courts of appeal, and six of the seven California courts of appeal.

A parent of a child with type 1 diabetes, Mr. Ehrlich has been actively involved with the Disability Rights and Defense Education Fund (DREDF) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in successfully changing California Laws regarding the rights of students with diabetes in public schools.  He has also served as treasurer for the San Bernardino County, CA chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
